Updates on the biennial report on gender equality

News Flash No. 23/2022


The Interministerial Decree of March 29, 2022, published on May 17, 2022, sets forth the procedures and deadlines for preparing and submitting the biennial report on gender equality.


Public and private companies with more than 50 employees are required to prepare a report on the status of their male and female workforce, based on employment figures as of December 31, 2021. The reference period for all companies will therefore be 2020–2021.


The report must be prepared both for all production units and branches combined and for each production unit with more than 50 employees.


Companies with fewer than 50 employees will be able to prepare the document on a voluntary basis; it may be useful for obtaining gender equality certification or for participating in public tenders, thereby providing an additional advantage.


The report must be submitted electronically by accessing the website of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies using the SPID (Public Digital Identity System) or the electronic identity card (CIE) of the legal representative or another authorized person.


The deadline for submission, exceptionally for 2022 only, is September 30, 2022.

Once fully implemented, the biennial report must be submitted by April 30 of the year following the end of each two-year period.
