Updates on the biennial equal opportunities report for men and women

The Interministerial Decree of March 29, 2022, made public on May 17, 2022, defines the methods and terms for the preparation and submission of the biennial report on equal opportunities for men and women.


Public and private companies employing more than 50 employees are required to prepare a report on the situation of male and female employees, taking as a reference the employment situation as of December 31, 2021. The reference two-year period will therefore be 2020-2021 for all.


The report must be prepared both in reference to all production units and dependencies, and in reference to each production unit with more than 50 employees.


Companies with fewer than 50 employees may prepare the document on a voluntary basis, and it may be useful for obtaining certification on gender equality, or for participating in tenders, thus being able to count on an additional requirement in their favor.


The report will be submitted electronically, by connecting to the website of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, using the SPID (Public Digital Identity System) or the electronic identity card (CIE) of the legal representative or another authorized subject.


The deadline for submission, exceptionally only for 2022, is set for September 30, 2022.

Under normal circumstances, the biennial report must be submitted by April 30 of the year following the expiration of each two-year period.
