Updates on Green Pass and Enhanced Green Pass

Update: May 31, 2022

News Flash No. 06/2022

Legislative Decree No. 1 of January 7, 2022, made vaccination mandatory for the prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection for Italian citizens and citizens of other European Union member states residing in the national territory, as well as for foreign citizens regularly residing in Italy, who have reached fifty years of age, except in documented cases of health risk, which must therefore be certified by the patient's general practitioner or by the vaccinating physician. This provision also applies to those who reach fifty years of age after the effective date of this provision (i.e., from January 8, 2022), subject to the deadline of June 15, 2022.

Therefore, from February 1, 2022, a penalty of 100 euros will be imposed on unvaccinated individuals over 50, and the fine will be administered by the Ministry of Health through the Revenue Agency-Collection.

The validity of the vaccination Green Pass has been reduced from 9 to 6 months.

Attention! From February 15, 2022, the obligation for the reinforced Green Pass (obtained only through vaccination or recovery from Covid-19) comes into effect for all public and private sector workers, as well as for all self-employed professionals who have reached 50 years of age.
