Subject: Title II "Measures to support employment," Chapter I "Extension of special measures regarding social safety nets throughout the national territory" Decree-Law No. 18 of March 17, 2020
The following is a summary of the provisions of Decree-Law No. 18 of March 17, 2020, on social safety nets, contained in Chapter I, Title II of the decree.
Firstly, here is a table to refer to in order to identify the social safety net to access based on company size and any structural safety net (CIGO, CIGS) or second-level safety net (FSB – FSBA, FIS) financed.

Article 19 CIGO and ORDINARY CHECK
Employers who suspend or reduce work activities in 2020 due to events related to the COVID-19 epidemiological emergency may apply for ordinary wage supplementation or access to ordinary allowances citing "COVID-19 emergency" as the reason, for periods starting from February 23, 2020, for a maximum duration maximum duration of nine weeks and in any case within the month of August 2020.
