Agreement Between the ABI, the Government, and Labor and Management: Advance Payment of Up to 1,400 Euros
On March 30, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies, together with the Italian Banking Association (ABI) and the social partners, signed an agreement establishing a procedure for banks to provide advance payments of wage supplementation benefits.
Advance payments are granted to employees of employers who, even while awaiting the issuance of measures authorizing wage supplementation for the COVID-19 emergency, have placed those employees on zero-hour status and have filed applied for direct payment from INPS of wage supplementation benefits on behalf of workers eligible for such income support measures.
The employee must request an advance on the allowance from one of the banks that offer this service, along with the relevant documentation as specified in the annex to the ABI Agreement, and in accordance with the procedures in effect at the bank in question.
