Subject: Updates on contractual increases to minimum wage rates effective June 2023 under the National Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Metalworking Industry signed by Federmeccanica-Assistal, Fim, Fiom-Cgil, and Uilm
Under the new rules for determining minimum wages, introduced by the safeguard clause included in the latest collective bargaining agreement renewal of February 5, 2021—which adjusts wages in line with the rising cost of living—increases to the minimum wages under the National Collective Bargaining Agreement for the Metalworking Industry are based on an annual review system ex post, based on final figures, of inflation measured by the HICP index, net of major energy costs.
Effective June 1, 2023, wage increases—initially estimated on a provisional basis—could amount to 6.6%, following ISTAT’s announcement of the 2022 HICP adjustment figure, calculated net of major energy costs. The increases starting in June 2023 would therefore be significantly higher than the overall reference wage increase established in the National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL) for 2023 of 1.44% (equivalent to €27.00 for level C3).
