Subject: Law No. 162/2021: Amendments to the code set forth in Legislative Decree No. 198/2006 and other provisions regarding equal opportunities for men and women in the workplace.


Law No. 162/2021, aimed at achieving true gender equality within companies, amends Legislative Decree No. 198/2006—the Equal Opportunity Code. Within the text of the law, particular attention should be paid to the new and broader definition of the concept of discrimination. Furthermore, the law in question introduces additional and substantial amendments, namely:

  • The requirement for employers with more than 50 employees to prepare a biennial report (previously, this requirement applied to companies with more than 100 employees);
