Subject: Law No. 162/2021: Amendments to the code referred to in Legislative Decree No. 198/2006 and other provisions concerning equal opportunities between men and women in the workplace.


Law No. 162/2021, with the aim of achieving genuine gender equality within companies, amends Legislative Decree No. 198/2006 – Code of Equal Opportunities. Within the text of the law, particular attention is given to the new and broader definition of the concept of discrimination. Furthermore, the legal text in question introduces additional and substantial amendments, namely:

  • The obligation for employers with over 50 employees to prepare a biennial report (previously, this obligation applied to companies with over 100 employees);
