Extension of support for employees on maternity/paternity leave after their return to work

In its Notice No. 1343 of April 21, INPS provided details on the extension of the mentoring period for employees on maternity or paternity leave following their return to work, as provided for in Budget Law No. 199 of December 30, 2025.

The aforementioned Budget Law amended Article 4 of the Consolidated Law on the Protection and Support of Maternity and Paternity, providing, in paragraph 2-bis, for an extension of the term of the fixed-term contract to replace an employee on maternity or paternity leave, extending its duration, up to a maximum of the child’s first birthday, in order to allow for the mentoring of the employee being replaced.
