This document outlines the main changes in labor law introduced during the conversion of the Milleproroghe decree into law, which came into force on March 2, 2021.
Suspension of the statute of limitations for social security and welfare contributions (Article 11, paragraph 9)
The limitation periods for compulsory social security and welfare contributions (pursuant to Article 3, paragraph 9, of Law No. 335/1995) are suspended for the period from December 31, 2020, to June 30, 2021. The aforementioned limitation periods shall resume at the end of the suspension period. If they begin during this period, the limitation periods shall start on July 1, 2021.
Covid-19 layoff benefits: 2020 amnesty (Article 11, paragraph 10-bis)
The deadlines for submitting applications for access to Covid-19 wage supplementation, together with the deadlines for submitting data for payment or settlement (Forms SR-41), which expired on December 31, 2020, have been extended to March 31, 2021. Therefore, companies that submitted their applications or employee data late will be eligible for wage supplementation benefits - provided they submit the data by March 31, 2021 - without incurring any costs. Any applications and Form SR41 relating to wage supplementation weeks in December 2020, for which the deadline was January 31, 2021, are not covered by the amnesty provided for in the Milleproroghe decree.
