Extension of the right to remote work for vulnerable individuals through December 31, 2023

Pursuant to Decree-Law No. 132/2023 (see Art. 8), the right to remote work for “vulnerable workers” in the private and public sectors has been extended through December 31, 2023.

In this regard, it should be noted that workers with documented medical conditions as identified by Ministerial Decree of February 4, 2022, are defined as “vulnerable” (chronic conditions with poor clinical prognosis and a particularly severe nature, in the presence of which the worker’s primary care physician certifies the state of vulnerability for the purposes of applying certain favorable transitional provisions).
