The recent Law no. 151 of October 8, 2025, amended Article 2 of the historic Law no. 260 of 1949 concerning provisions on public holidays, introducing October 4th as a public holiday, with the resulting legal, regulatory, and economic effects.
Article 2 of Law No. 269 of 1949 has been amended as follows:
“For the purposes of observing the full holiday schedule and the prohibition on performing certain legal acts, the following days are considered holidays, in addition to the national holiday:
every Sunday;
the first day of the year;
