Incentives offered by the Lombardy Region to companies for new hires

The Lombardy Region has provided employment incentives for 2021 for employers who hire new staff, with the aim of boosting employment within the region.

Specifically, employers who have production units/operating sites located in the Lombardy Region and hire new employees can receive a contribution, differentiated according to the difficulty of access to the labor market for workers, as follows:

  • Workers up to 54 years of age = contribution of €5,000.00;

  • Female workers up to 54 years of age = contribution of €7,000.00 provided;

  • Workers aged 55 and over = contribution of €7,000.00;

  • Female workers aged 55 and over = contribution of €9,000.00.

An additional €1,000.00 is added to these amounts if the recruitment is carried out by an employer with fewer than 50 employees or by a company established or acquired by workers, including in the form of a cooperative, who come from companies in crisis (so-called "workers buyouts").

Employers who have suspended work due to a crisis or company reorganization are excluded from the subsidy, except in cases where the recruitment concerns workers classified at a different level from that of the suspended workers or to be employed in production units other than those affected by the suspension.
