Some news on the extensions of deadlines regarding work and Fuel Bonus 2023

Law No. 14 of February 24, 2023, regarding the "Conversion into law, with amendments, of the decree-law of December 29, 2022, No. 198, containing urgent provisions regarding legislative terms. Extension of terms for the exercise of legislative delegations" (the so-called Milleproroghe Decree) has introduced important innovations concerning labor; we mention those of greatest interest:


Smart Working


The possibility for so-called vulnerable workers to perform their work in agile mode, even through assignment to a different task within the same category or classification area, as defined by the collective labor agreements in force, without any reduction in salary, has been extended to June 30, 2023.

This possibility has also been extended to employed parents in the private sector who have at least one child under the age of 14, provided that there is no other parent in the family unit receiving income support in the event of suspension or termination of work activity or that there is no non-working parent, making it possible by June 30, 2023 to perform work in agile mode, even in the absence of individual agreements, without prejudice to compliance with the information obligations provided for in articles 18 to 23 of Law No. 81/2017, and provided that this mode is compatible with the characteristics of the work performance.


Reorganization of the provisions in force regarding disability


The deadline for the adoption of one or more legislative decrees for the revision and reorganization of the provisions in force regarding disability pursuant to Law No. 227 of December 22, 2021 has been extended to March 15, 2024.
