Updates on the Calculation of Financial Compensation for Parental Leave

As previously announced in our circular, Legislative Decree No. 105 of June 30, 2022, introduced a new system for calculating parental leave benefits, specifically establishing that the average daily pay (used as the basis for calculating the applicable financial allowance) shall be equivalent to that of mandatory maternity leave, and therefore includes the daily prorated amount for the Christmas bonus or thirteenth-month salary, as well as any other bonuses, monthly payments, or supplementary benefits that may be paid.

The new method for calculating the financial compensation due applies to all events occurring on or after August 13, 2022.
